Mitsubishi Evo crossover and XR-PHEV II concept
There are so many exciting things coming from Mitsubishi, but much of it is still a mystery as to how it will impact U.S. consumers. Rumors of a Mitsubishi Evo crossover and XR-PHEV II concept have generated a lot of excitement, but few answers as to what will be available to the U.S. market. Currently the latest production vehicle is the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander that made its debut at the New York International Auto Show in April, but could there be more?
The only other solid news is that the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo will be discontinued after 2015 in favor of taking the Mitsubishi lineup in a new direction. After making the announcement about the Lancer, Mitsubishi also hinted that the Evo name would live on in another form. Continuing in that same vein, the auto maker has been hinting at a crossover Evo. Could the Mitsubishi XR-PHEV II concept that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show last year have been a preview of the new Mitsubishi crossover Evo?
Mitsubishi seems to be really experimenting with the concept and after a very successful 2014 year of sales, anything is possible. There are also rumors that a high-performance crossover could be next in the form of the Outlander Sport. This is all speculation, but we are excited to see what’s next for the Mitsubishi brand. With the brand new 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander in production it can only get better.
