A New Look For The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport vs 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport grille and wheels

The Outlander Sport is back, with a major design refresh for 2016. Not everything on the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is new – it'll keep the same two engine options as the 2015 Outlander Sport, a fuel-efficient 2-liter 4-cylinder or a more powerful 2.4L version. But it's gotten a makeover, both inside and out. The most obvious change is the grille. The 2015 Outlander Sport has the closed trapezoid grille shape in common with older Mitsubishi cars, while the 2016 model shows off the brand's new Dynamic Shield design. It's a little wider and more aggressive-looking, matching the bigger Outlander SUV.

The 2016 Outlander Sport also has stylish new 18" aluminum wheels, with a distinctive spoke design and painted accents. Finally, the vehicle is available in more colors than last year's model, adding new white, silver, and bronze-brown options

New Features Added For 2016

The 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport has also gotten an interior makeover. The 2015 Outlander Sport has a black-trimmed interior; the 2016 model adds a new light gray option. The seat fabrics have been updated for a more premium look and feel, and the Outlander Sport's standard leather-wrapped steering wheel has also been redesigned.

The 2016 Outlander Sport comes with all the same features and options as the 2015 model, plus a few additions. Both vehicles come standard with Bluetooth hands-free calling, and a 140-watt audio system with USB/Aux inputs and steering wheel controls. All the standard safety equipment is the same, including 7 airbags, active stability control and traction control. Heated seats, built-in navigation, push-button navigation, a rearview camera, and deluxe Rockford Fosgate audio are all available. The 2016 Outlander Sport adds an auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink garage door opener to the list. Also available for the first time: heated, power-folding side mirrors with LED turn signal repeaters.
